This is the major conference in Heavy Ion Physics, and the place where new experimental results and theoretical developments are expected to be reported. The high luminosity LHC run of 2011 makes this year’s edition particularly exciting. Guilherme has been asked to present a plenary overview of the theory of jet quenching.
